Before the election Rhodri Morgan made clear he was not interested in wooing Tories. Guided by a belief that Wales is natural Labour soil, he tried to stoke enough sympathy to overwhelm the opposition. Nothing could be less New Labour. The strategy failed, perhaps because Welsh Labour was tarnished by the unpopularity of New Labour. The One Wales pact is a consequence of that failure.

But could the "progressive consensus" in Wales further entrench New Labour? More power for Wales's Assembly and Scotland's Parliament will mean both nations send fewer MPs to Westminster. If the One Wales pact results in a lawmaking referendum - a pretty big 'if' according to Welsh Labour MPs - then it could further diminish safe Labour parliamentary seats, making middle England even more valuable at General Elections.

there is no such thing as Welsh Labour. It is not a registered party?

Although we feel for Rhodri and his family at this time, certain questions spring to mind…

Is Rhodri the Welsh Assembly Government and the Welsh Assembly Government, Rhodri? Doesn't Rhodri have faith in those within the Labour group that negotiated the 'One Wales' agreement to make decisions for him based on his terms and agreement?

Someone has to get rid of Jane Hutt from out television screens.

What I cant understand is why Christopher Glamorgan posts comments on everyones blogs when we can see his comments on his own blog and when the comments posted on others have nothing to do with the subject up for discussion.

This is not the first time he has done this and over the past few weeks has done it countless number of times.

C Glamorgan you are a good blogger so why do you engage in such attention seeking tactics. It would be more productive if you actually engaged in the debate up for disscussion, both for yourself and for the benifit of others.

Apologies, Daniel.

It's not that I engage in such attention seeking tactics - the fact that I wear a bowler in the daytime and a top hat in the evening is enough to suffice.

I don't assume that many read my blog, so resort to daily offerings on the blogs of others to get my message across (if I can call it that) in addition to joining in with the discussion.

This post is partly about Rhodri, so thought I'd comment as appropriate as it is topical at the moment.

Note to anonymous: don't be rude and anonymous! Surely it's better to comment than not to comment; and better to be someone than anonymous :>D

Note for CG: Must take point onboard and improve.
